Most supporters of net neutrality are liberals, though some conservatives & libertarians have tentatively offered support as well. It is a naturally liberal position, in the sense that it intends to use government to protect consumers from the predations of industry.
Of course, my beliefs are exactly the opposite -- that the free market of ideas that is the Internet is our best protection against government, and that this market is best developed by profit motive.
Here is a good piece from a self-described liberal Dem (worked under Carter) against net neutrality: http://pff.org/issues-pubs/ps/2006/ps2.24voiceofcautiononnetneutrality.html.
It's a lovely thing to see a liberal with a sound economic understanding.
