Notice the subtle difference in headlining the same story. In the CNN domestic edition, Ahmadinejad thinks the UN is the problem:
But in CNN's International edition, somehow it becomes the United States that is the problem:
I imagine this is more in line with that audience's expectations? Both headlines link to the same story (here). For CNN, it's all about having your red states and eating them too.

That's a great find. Unfortunately, though, I think the problem is even worse - why is CNN even giving headline space to Ahmadinejad? I think if they really wanted to stand up for America, they'd minimize his comments and talk instead about how wrong it is to invite him to the UN while his nuclear program poses a serious danger to the whole world.

— The United Nations should arrest the president of Iran and extradite him to Canada to stand trial for the murder of Montreal-based photojournalist Zahra Kazemi, activists bound for a rally in New York said Monday.
Iranian expatriate Homa Arjomand, during a rally outside Ontario’s legislature, called President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s scheduled attendance this week at the UN General Assembly in New York an affront to human rights.
"Zahra Kazemi . . . was arrested, she was murdered, she was tortured," said Arjomand, who anticipates 5,000 Iranian activists will descend on the UN today.
"We demand that Ahmadinejad be arrested by the United Nations and given to the Canadian government to . . . put him on trial."
Kazemi was accused of spying after taking photos of the infamous Evin prison outside of Tehran in 2003. The Iranian-born photojournalist died in custody from head injuries she sustained while being interrogated.
Although Ahmadinejad was not president at the time, Arjomand alleges he was the leader of the Islamic state’s execution squads.
Canada’s repeated calls for justice in the case have largely been ignored.
