Isn't that an illegal discriminatory add. There is supposed to be an exception for gender because it is a roomate, but no meat, no Republicans, no plants? That sounds discriminatory to me.

No. Political party is not a protected class. Dietary Constraints are not a protected class. Even profession isn't a protected class. The ad could say 'no newspaper reporters'.
